Base Salary

$100k - $110k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Conduct discovery sessions with government finance teams to map accounting practices, fund accounting, controls, procurement workflows, and budget cycles.
  • Deliver tailored OpenGov product demonstrations addressing public-sector financial challenges such as reconciliations, audit readiness, GASB compliance, budget-to-actual reporting, and transparency.
  • Serve as the accounting and finance expert during prospect evaluations and translate customer workflows into system configurations and future-state process models.
  • Design and execute proof-of-concept activities using realistic government accounting scenarios.
  • Support RFI, RFP, and RFQ development with finance and accounting requirements and functional responses.
  • Advise customers on GASB compliance, purchasing controls, financial reporting, and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Professional Services on customer feedback and government accounting needs.
  • Create process documentation, configuration guides, and best-practice resources for evaluations and implementation handoffs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in accounting or finance systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting, financial systems, ERP implementation, or public-sector finance advisory.
  • Strong knowledge of government accounting, fund accounting, GASB standards, budgeting, procurement, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to explain accounting and system concepts clearly to finance teams, IT staff, and executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical and process-improvement skills.
  • Experience working directly with local government finance operations, such as cities, counties, or public-sector finance organizations.
  • Background as a CPA, accounting professional, or government auditor is valued.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based ERP or financial management systems in a technical or functional capacity is valued.
  • Familiarity with government procurement, budget development, or financial compliance processes is valued.
  • Ability to travel up to 35%.
