Responsibilities
- Lead QA strategy, planning, execution, and certification for Pillar Options trading-system enhancements and releases.
- Analyze requirements, specifications, technical designs, and code changes to determine test coverage and risks.
- Validate trading workflows involving order entry, matching, auctions, market data, reference data, risk controls, and system recovery.
- Analyze QA and production data, investigate defects, and develop test scenarios and diagnostic tools.
- Lead defect triage and root-cause analysis using logs, protocol messages, market data, system events, and test evidence.
- Support production releases, implementation validation, UAT, operational readiness exercises, audits, and post-release verification.
- Provide technical direction and support the development of other QA engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of software quality assurance experience, including testing low-latency client-server applications.
- Experience testing financial-market, exchange, brokerage, order-management, or electronic-trading applications.
- Knowledge of order types, market structures, price-time priority, auctions, market data, and risk controls.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux or Unix environments; Red Hat Linux experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of the FIX protocol and experience validating FIX-based order-entry workflows.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, defect management, risk-based testing, and release certification.
- Demonstrated ability to lead testing activities, provide technical direction, and support other QA engineers.
- Options trading, binary order-entry or market-data protocols, production debugging, UAT, performance, capacity, resiliency, failover, and recovery testing experience are preferred.
- Working knowledge of C++ and the ability to review application code or technical changes for testing impact is preferred.
