Base Salary
$159k - $206k/yr
Responsibilities
- Validate FIX connectivity, client onboarding, order entry, execution reports, and drop-copy behavior against client and venue specifications.
- Define test approaches and own test strategy and plans for new features from requirements through release.
- Execute and evolve functional, regression, end-to-end integration, performance, and resilience testing.
- Build test harnesses, test data, and environment tooling to expand coverage and shorten feedback loops.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI pipelines and keep them fast and stable.
- Investigate defects through root cause, document reproduction steps, and partner with developers on fixes and verification.
- Contribute to release-readiness reviews and verify behavior in production after deployments.
- Champion quality practices and continuous improvement across the team.
Requirements
- Five to ten years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering involving complex, transactional, or real-time systems.
- Experience designing and maintaining manual and automated test suites, not only executing them.
- Experience owning test strategy and plans across functional, regression, and integration testing in an Agile delivery environment.
- Experience with source control and continuous integration tooling such as Git, TeamCity, and Jira.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, REST Assured, or Postman.
- Exposure to Java for reading application code, writing test code, and debugging failures.
- Working knowledge of SQL and comfort with Linux command-line tools and shell or Bash scripting.
- Familiarity with financial markets, FIX protocol, trading systems, matching engines, latency-sensitive platforms, Docker, and AWS is preferred.
