Responsibilities
- Work across requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, handover, and production support.
- Contribute to cloud adoption and develop software solutions in Java and public cloud environments.
- Manage requirements, specifications, design documents, releases, and stakeholder communications.
- Provide L3 support for production environments.
- Lead adoption of approved AI-assisted development and automation tools, including validation for correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
- Promote secure coding, peer review, automated testing, reuse of effective patterns, and responsible AI practices across the team.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Strong Java development experience, analytical development skills, and knowledge of computer science fundamentals.
- Experience with Linux-based environments, Unix/Linux commands, and shell scripting.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and automation or provisioning tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipeline development, improvement, and management.
- Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and Wiki, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working within a structured software development process covering build, test, and deployment.
- Knowledge of kdb+/q, cloud infrastructure technologies, and FIX or other financial messaging protocols is preferred.
