Responsibilities
- Own an assigned project while collaborating with team members through regular questions and updates.
- Improve code through progressive refactoring.
- Build reliable software using unit, integration, and load testing.
- Participate in code reviews to improve quality and share knowledge.
- Contribute to continuous integration and deployment.
- Develop user-facing products that improve the experience of Lyft drivers and passengers.
Requirements
- Currently pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science at a university in Canada and graduate between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Master’s candidates with full-time work between bachelor’s and master’s programs must have less than two years of relevant full-time experience.
- Be available for a Summer 2027 internship in Toronto.
- Demonstrate strong computer science fundamentals and knowledge of Python, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Have experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React and frontend testing tools such as Webpack, Babel, Jest, Jasmine, Protractor, and WebDriver.
- Understand browsers, the DOM, web performance, and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Have experience with TypeScript, CSS preprocessors such as Sass, Git or other distributed version control systems, browser developer tools, and the Unix command line.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a startup environment.
- Experience with real-time technology problems, open source contributions, databases, and mobile development is listed as relevant experience.
