Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of product-focused data across market research, market surveys, and revenue management products.
- Design and scale ingestion pipelines processing data for more than 10 million multifamily units through feeds, web scraping, warehouse transformations, and APIs.
- Define and enforce dataset accuracy, completeness, and timeliness standards.
- Collaborate with Product and Application Engineering to turn datasets into measurable features and customer insights.
- Build observability, daily monitoring, anomaly detection, and automated alerts for ingestion health.
- Lead data roadmap execution by defining milestones, tracking progress in Linear, and communicating outcomes.
- Evaluate emerging data and AI tools, maintain documentation, and mentor teammates on data best practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software or data engineering experience delivering pipelines that support customer-facing features.
- Strong experience with Ruby on Rails and Python.
- Deep understanding of large-scale data collection, web scraping, parsing, proxy management, and structured feed ingestion.
- Hands-on experience with batch data workflows using dbt, Airflow, or equivalent tools.
- Deep expertise in AWS infrastructure, including RDS, ECS, S3, Lambda, and OpenSearch.
- Familiarity with performance tracking, error monitoring, and distributed tracing.
- Ability to translate complex technical details into clear product outcomes and operate autonomously in a fast-paced growth-stage environment.
