Base Salary

$126k - $214k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of People system automations and integrations across Workato, Google Cloud Platform, Claude, Workday, Greenhouse, and GitLab.
  • Build and maintain Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and internal-tool integrations using Workday Web Services and Slack’s API and Bot SDK.
  • Write, version, document, review, and maintain reliable automation code in Ruby or comparable scripting languages.
  • Develop and manage Slack applications and bots that automate workflows for People teams and employees.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Workato automation architecture and drive standardization, reuse, and scalability.
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices for People system automation using GitLab.
  • Use AI tools, large language models, Claude, and Model Context Protocol frameworks to accelerate development and eliminate manual work.
  • Diagnose integration failures, improve uptime and reliability, and address root problems with durable automation solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance to teammates and stakeholders while partnering with InfoSec, AI Engineering, and IT.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience writing and maintaining Ruby or a comparable scripting language such as Python or PHP.
  • Deep expertise with Workato or a comparable enterprise automation and integration platform in production environments.
  • Strong experience integrating with Workday using Workday Web Services.
  • Experience building Slack apps and automations with Slack’s API and Bot SDK.
  • Proficiency with Git and GitLab for version control, code review, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or AWS, plus experience with Docker and Kubernetes; GKE experience is a bonus.
  • Experience connecting HR systems including Workday, Greenhouse, and internal tools.
  • Comfort working with AI tools, large language models, and Model Context Protocol frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical architecture into decisions and stakeholder updates.
  • An engineering mindset focused on reliability, observability, maintainability, and careful handling of HR data.
  • Intellectual curiosity, independent judgment, and a bias toward proactively identifying and resolving brittle systems.
