Base Salary
$209k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and product leaders to deliver cloud-based solutions and define platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy.
- Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services.
- Mentor engineering community members and senior engineers while driving professional development.
- Lead architectural design reviews, influence enterprise-wide technical standards, and establish coding standards and design patterns.
- Implement observability and reliability practices and optimize performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred experience includes 9+ years coding with multiple languages such as Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, and Scala.
- Preferred experience includes front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred experience includes mentoring senior engineers, leading architectural design reviews, implementing observability and reliability practices, and influencing technology strategy.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion, cross-functional engineering efforts, and large-scale technical initiatives.

- Annual base salary varies by location: McLean, VA $229,900-$262,400; New York, NY $250,800-$286,200; Plano, TX $209,000-$238,500.
- Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
