Base Salary
$400k - $400k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refine reinforcement-learning tasks and environments
- Own tasks from ideation through grading, failure analysis, and iteration
- Develop complex tasks involving multi-step workflows, stakeholder interactions, large codebases, technical debt, and system-design problems
- Direct coding agents and evaluate their outputs
- Distinguish genuine model capability gaps from grader issues
- Contribute to shared infrastructure and tooling
- Potentially mentor newer team members
Requirements
- Deep expertise in at least one area of software engineering
- Ability to code in Python
- Confidence working independently on complex, ambiguous problems
- Extensive experience working with coding agents
- Strong intuition for AI model behavior and the ability to identify subtle model failure modes
- Experience across multiple software engineering domains is expected
- Prior ML or AI experience is not required
