Responsibilities

Act as the technical authority for modernization-focused product teams supporting reinsurance, accounting, regulatory reporting, and financial data platforms.
Own architecture patterns, solution design, integration approaches, data strategy, cloud services, engineering standards, and technical debt reduction priorities.
Lead and directly perform hands-on design, coding, automation, testing, troubleshooting, implementation, and continuous improvement.
Define modernization roadmaps that improve data quality, reporting accuracy, resiliency, agility, and legacy-system simplicity.
Translate strategic business goals, financial controls, compliance needs, and operational priorities into technical solutions and delivery plans.
Provide architecture guidance, mentoring, delivery governance, and technical influence to internal, external, and offshore resources.
Maintain accountability for engineering quality, secure delivery, release readiness, production stability, and alignment with enterprise standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Typically 10+ years of experience in application engineering.
7+ years of coding proficiency in multiple programming languages preferred.
Expertise in engineering, enterprise architecture, solution design, and technical leadership for modernization-focused product teams.
Strong understanding of reinsurance, accounting, regulatory reporting, financial controls, reconciliation, premium and loss transaction data, and insurance business processes.
Deep knowledge of application architecture, systems integration, data modeling, cloud platforms, databases, APIs, ETL/ELT, reporting data flows, and operational resiliency.
Hands-on proficiency with enterprise application development, automation, secure software delivery, unit testing, release readiness, and production support.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform and enterprise data services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer, or comparable platforms.
Previous technical or project leadership experience and the ability to influence senior business and technology stakeholders are required; direct people management is not required.
Applicable cloud, application development, architecture, data engineering, or related enterprise technology certifications are preferred.
Experience advancing Agile methods is preferred.
