Base Salary
$152k - $228k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting systems for data-platform stability, reliability, and performance.
- Respond to and resolve failures and technical issues affecting data pipelines, storage layers, and data platforms.
- Develop and maintain automation for deployment, monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Optimize data storage, query performance, data flows, latency, and large-scale dataset processing.
- Perform incident response, troubleshooting, cross-team coordination, and reliability improvements.
- Analyze capacity requirements and scale infrastructure to accommodate data growth.
- Document data-platform architecture, configurations, and operational procedures, and share knowledge across the team.
- Ensure data platforms meet security and compliance standards and help prevent unauthorized access and data misuse.
- Collaborate with data engineering, data science, product, and development teams on data-product design, implementation, and reliability issues.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer, or Data Operations Engineer.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, HDFS, and AWS S3.
- Extensive database-management experience with NoSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Programming experience in Python, Go, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes Aerospike, Kafka, Snowflake, large-scale distributed systems, data quality management, data governance, and ETL pipelines.
