Base Salary
$100k - $164k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for data platforms.
- Develop automation for deployment, monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Optimize data storage, query performance, data flows, latency, and processing speed.
- Respond to data-platform incidents, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate cross-team resolution.
- Forecast capacity needs and scale infrastructure to support data growth.
- Document data-platform architecture, configurations, and operational procedures, and share knowledge with the team.
- Maintain security, compliance, access controls, and protection against data misuse.
- Collaborate with data engineering, data science, product, and development teams on reliable data products and platforms.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer, or Data Operations Engineer.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Extensive database-management experience, including NoSQL databases, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker for data-system deployment and maintenance.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Programming ability in Python, Go, Java, or Scala for scripting and automation.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
- Strong production troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent coursework and professional experience.
- Preferred qualifications include containerization and microservices experience, large-scale distributed-systems experience, and familiarity with data quality, data governance, or ETL pipelines.

- Base pay is listed by work location, with Virginia ranging from $109,178.41 to $163,767.61 and Illinois ranging from $99,684.63 to $163,767.61.
