Base Salary
$160k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Instrument the behavior pipeline to identify latency spikes, resource contention, and memory inefficiencies.
- Optimize high-frequency execution loops through cache utilization improvements, reduced dynamic memory allocation, and lower tail latency.
- Re-engineer thread boundaries and synchronization logic for multicore parallelism and thread safety.
- Build automated micro-benchmarks, runtime telemetry, and CI/CD performance-regression guardrails.
- Design performant, low-overhead C++ module interfaces in partnership with autonomy teams.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of CPU cache hierarchies, memory alignment, lock-free concurrency models, and Linux OS thread scheduling.
- Hands-on experience with Linux profiling tools such as Perf, Tracy, and eBPF, plus ASan, TSan, or Valgrind.
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ with low-overhead abstractions, RAII, and cache-friendly data layouts.
- Familiarity with micro-benchmarking frameworks such as Google Benchmark and continuous-integration performance-regression testing.
- Experience with performance-critical software such as game engines, financial technology, database runtimes, or operating system kernels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree.
- A master’s degree or PhD, at least five years of professional experience, AV or robotics experience, and experience scaling automated CI/CD performance-testing infrastructure are desirable.
