Responsibilities
- Lead and standardize test automation practices across teams and services.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks with Playwright and SerenityJS.
- Develop JavaScript/TypeScript automated test suites for web, API, and workflow validation.
- Design and maintain REST API automation using Postman or equivalent tools.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
- Enforce quality gates and block releases when automation or sanity checks fail.
- Monitor test executions, analyze failures, and drive root-cause resolution.
- Conduct automation code reviews for consistency, reusability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product during design and story elaboration to define acceptance criteria and risk coverage.
- Mentor QA and engineering teams on automation frameworks, tooling, and best practices.
- Contribute to automation metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in QA Automation or SDET roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and SerenityJS using JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for building maintainable automation.
- Experience with REST API testing using Postman or equivalent tools.
- Hands-on CI/CD automation experience with Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with the Cucumber BDD framework.
- Strong working knowledge of Git, GitHub, and modern version control workflows.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes-based environments.
- Exposure to accessibility testing and WCAG principles.
- Experience with desktop automation testing.
- Understanding of regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Ability to debug complex automation failures and solve problems effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence quality across teams.
- Familiarity with visual regression, cross-browser, and performance validation testing is preferred.
- Experience with automation metrics, quality dashboards, cloud-native SaaS platforms, and team mentoring is preferred.
- Experience using AI agents or tools in daily work or testing AI-powered features is preferred.
