Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure test instances and databases on Linux, on-premises infrastructure, and AWS or GCP using Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
- Troubleshoot deployment, testing, and product issues.
- Develop performance tests with LoadRunner, DevWeb, Apache Benchmark, Cypress, and custom scripts.
- Monitor and analyze test results, logs, cloud monitoring data, database queries, and observability metrics to diagnose bottlenecks.
- File and track reproducible product issues in Jira.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to investigate and mitigate testing problems.
- Improve automation so more time can be devoted to analyzing performance measurements.
- Take ownership of tasks, communicate proactively, and continuously improve.
Requirements
- 6+ years of dedicated performance engineering experience, preferably with complex containerized and distributed cloud products.
- Strong experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP and/or AWS.
- Strong experience with LoadRunner, JMeter, or other performance testing tools.
- Strong scripting experience with Bash, Perl, or Python.
- Experience diagnosing bottlenecks in PostgreSQL or other relational database queries.
- Experience with performance monitoring tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
