Responsibilities
- Establish standards for logging, metrics, and tracing.
- Identify metrics for evaluating system and component performance across teams.
- Build tooling and infrastructure to emit, aggregate, and store metrics for dashboards and alerting.
- Contribute to and execute the technical roadmap for scalable, performant, and reliable systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations and improve incident response times.
- Optimize observability costs through expense analysis, improved visibility, retention policies, streamlined queries, and resource right-sizing.
Requirements
- BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of production-level experience with Python, Java, Scala, C++, or similar languages.
- Experience with software development in large-scale distributed systems.
- Familiarity with metrics collection, health monitoring, and observability tools.
