Base Salary
$94k - $142k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable middleware services and Spring Boot-based microservices.
- Analyze requirements and existing application systems, identifying complexity, performance bottlenecks, risks, and modernization opportunities.
- Contribute to high-level and low-level system design, including sequence and class diagrams.
- Deliver assigned tasks and solution components while meeting project milestones and quality standards.
- Communicate technical ideas, clarify requirements, and provide development progress updates to project teams.
- Perform and participate in code and design reviews.
- Follow Citi engineering standards, operating procedures, applicable laws, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Suggest improvements to software architecture, development processes, and technology adoption.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in application development or systems analysis.
- Expert-level hands-on knowledge of Java/J2EE, the Spring Framework Stack, and Spring Boot.
- Deep understanding of microservice principles, patterns, and best practices, including hands-on Spring Boot microservices development.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB.
- Proficiency with Git and JIRA.
- Experience working within an Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Strong foundation in systems analysis, software design, and architecture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with limited direct supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in software engineering, computer science, or a related engineering discipline.
- Apache Kafka experience is highly desirable.
