Base Salary

$94k - $142k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable middleware services and Spring Boot-based microservices.
  • Analyze requirements and existing application systems, identifying complexity, performance bottlenecks, risks, and modernization opportunities.
  • Contribute to high-level and low-level system design, including sequence and class diagrams.
  • Deliver assigned tasks and solution components while meeting project milestones and quality standards.
  • Communicate technical ideas, clarify requirements, and provide development progress updates to project teams.
  • Perform and participate in code and design reviews.
  • Follow Citi engineering standards, operating procedures, applicable laws, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Suggest improvements to software architecture, development processes, and technology adoption.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in application development or systems analysis.
  • Expert-level hands-on knowledge of Java/J2EE, the Spring Framework Stack, and Spring Boot.
  • Deep understanding of microservice principles, patterns, and best practices, including hands-on Spring Boot microservices development.
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB.
  • Proficiency with Git and JIRA.
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Strong foundation in systems analysis, software design, and architecture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with limited direct supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in software engineering, computer science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Apache Kafka experience is highly desirable.
