Responsibilities
- Lead application modernisation engagements from assessment through delivery and transition.
- Assess legacy codebases, technical debt, dependencies, application portfolios, and modernisation opportunities.
- Create prioritised modernisation roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Evaluate and apply AI-assisted modernisation tools across customer environments.
- Design and build agentic workflows for code analysis, documentation generation, and modernisation planning.
- Define target-state architectures using cloud-native, microservices, API-first, event-driven, and containerised approaches.
- Develop modernisation methodologies, frameworks, delivery patterns, templates, assessment models, and reference architectures.
- Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops with CTOs, enterprise architects, application owners, and technology leaders.
- Support pre-sales through solution shaping, estimation, technical leadership, and customer engagement.
- Present recommendations and strategic roadmaps to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, contribute to modernisation intellectual property and accelerators, and mentor team members.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience modernising enterprise applications through re-platforming, re-architecting, or legacy transformation.
- Deep understanding of monolithic architectures, tightly coupled services, legacy integration patterns, and technical debt.
- Experience assessing complex application portfolios using code analysis tools, dependency mapping, architecture reviews, and quality metrics.
- Strong architecture expertise across cloud-native, API-first, microservices, event-driven, containerised, and Infrastructure-as-Code environments.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform, including migration and deployment strategies.
- Strong DevOps capability, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment automation, and modern engineering practices.
- Experience with enterprise or government customers in consulting, professional services, or large-scale transformation environments.
- Ability to operate across the full engagement lifecycle, from advisory and assessment through delivery and knowledge transfer.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with AI-assisted development, code analysis, automated refactoring, or software modernisation tooling is desirable.
- Knowledge of agentic AI concepts, LLM integration, orchestration frameworks, RAG architectures, and multi-agent systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with Australian Government PSPF, ISM, and Hosting Certification Framework requirements is desirable.
- Candidates for security-cleared roles must be Australian citizens and hold an Australian Federal Government Security Clearance.
