Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior developer driving the design and delivery of the Forge Cognition edge computing initiative.
  • Define and own architecture patterns for distributed, resource-constrained, and disconnected or intermittently connected environments.
  • Architect and operationalize edge and hosted workloads on Google Distributed Cloud.
  • Design, build, and scale Kubernetes-based deployments across edge and cloud environments.
  • Lead cloud and hybrid architecture for scalability and resilience.
  • Build and maintain Ansible automation for provisioning, configuration management, and fleet operations across distributed edge nodes.
  • Develop core services, tooling, and integrations in Python.
  • Architect IoT device connectivity, telemetry ingestion, data pipelines, and device lifecycle management solutions.
  • Enhance platform engineering and developer enablement with reusable templates, self-service workflows, deployment guardrails, documentation, and automation.
  • Participate in and lead architecture review boards, providing technical guidance and best-practice recommendations.
  • Partner with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to ensure solutions are secure, observable, and production-ready.
  • Mentor engineers and help raise the technical bar across teams.

Requirements

  • Hands-on senior software development experience with deep technical ownership and cross-team influence.
  • Experience architecting edge computing solutions for distributed, resource-constrained, and intermittently connected environments.
  • Experience with Google Distributed Cloud and Kubernetes-based edge or cloud deployments.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid architectures involving Azure, GCP, or Alibaba.
  • Experience building Ansible automation for provisioning, configuration management, and distributed fleet operations.
  • Strong Python development experience for core services, tooling, and integrations.
  • Experience with IoT connectivity, telemetry ingestion, data pipelines, and device lifecycle management.
  • Experience contributing to platform engineering, developer enablement, architecture reviews, scalability, resilience, observability, and production readiness.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.
