Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain critical double-entry transaction and accounting services for Stone’s Banking platform.
- Implement complex accounting features and distributed-systems architecture improvements.
- Perform database optimization, table partitioning, indexing, and storage-related improvements in PostgreSQL.
- Execute concurrency, load, integration, completeness, and integrity testing.
- Support 24/7 production systems and participate in on-call rotations.
- Contribute to the migration from Elixir to Go and to roadmap initiatives involving multi-currency, multi-country support, specialized engines, reconciliation, and compliance.
- Build and operate event-driven services using message queues, retry logic, background jobs, and observability tools.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience focused on backend and financial systems.
- Deep technical expertise in high-impact, highly available distributed systems.
- Experience with Elixir, OTP, Phoenix, and Golang.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Oban, Docker, Datadog, Grafana, Loki, Mimir, and Prometheus.
- Ability to make high-impact production decisions under pressure and work with systems operating continuously.
