Base Salary
$142k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic initiatives across the Exchange-Traded Derivatives Clearing portfolio with business and technology stakeholders.
- Design and deliver scalable, secure, resilient cloud-native applications, APIs, and services.
- Perform hands-on Java development and provide L3 production support for real-time clearing message flows.
- Replace legacy product processors and adopt modern cloud, containerization, and distributed-systems technologies.
- Champion AI-assisted software engineering tools to improve development, automation, troubleshooting, and delivery.
- Establish CI/CD, DevOps, observability, automated testing, and performance-monitoring practices.
- Coordinate release planning with globally distributed engineering teams and ETD technology leads.
- Mentor engineers, promote technical best practices, and drive automation, testability, reusability, and operational rigor.
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, and business teams while managing technical risk, application health, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale applications in complex global environments.
- Deep expertise in Java application development, Spring Boot, microservices, and distributed-systems design.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, or Solace in high-throughput, low-latency environments.
- Experience building and operating cloud-native applications with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Strong understanding of API design, application security, authentication, authorization, and secure software development.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and performance monitoring using Git, Maven or Gradle, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana.
- Experience with Redis or Couchbase for caching and performance optimization.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or Devin.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and working with globally distributed teams in Agile environments.
- Financial services experience, preferably in trade processing, clearing, middle office, or related capital markets platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Preferred experience with Spring Cloud, cloud-native Java technologies, event-driven architectures, and high-volume, low-latency capital-markets systems.
