Responsibilities
- Design, code, enhance, debug, test, and maintain custom software components and applications.
- Develop and optimize database solutions using IBM DB2/400, SQL, stored procedures, and related technologies.
- Integrate custom software components within larger system architectures and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Document software designs, processes, and code for knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to understand requirements and drive effective solutions.
- Participate in team discussions, contribute to problem solving, and work independently as a subject matter expert.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with IBM DB2/400 is required.
- Six to seven years of hands-on experience with AS/400 technology, including DB2/400, CLP, and RPG programming.
- Strong knowledge of database management and optimization for IBM DB2/400.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, software debugging, and testing.
- Experience writing SQLRPGLE and SQL, with stored procedure experience preferred.
- Ability to interact directly with clients and different teams and drive solutions.
- Experience with IBM System i operating system upgrades, MQ Series, Connect Direct, FTP, and data restoration is advantageous.
- Banking and finance application experience on AS/400 is preferred.
- Completion of 15 years of full-time education is required.
