Responsibilities
- Articulate and evangelize a technical vision for the assigned domain.
- Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions.
- Ensure the quality of technical designs and implementations.
- Advise on non-functional characteristics including performance, scalability, and operability.
- Provide technical thought leadership and share advanced knowledge across the engineering community.
- Lead and mentor engineers and product professionals while helping develop technical talent.
- Create technical communications, code samples, blog posts, and other knowledge-sharing materials.
- Work cross-functionally to build digital experiences for Capital One customers.
- Manage multiple projects and balance time to maximize organizational impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 7 years of experience in general software, software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, software specializations, web technologies, mobile technologies, security engineering and architecture, cloud computing, and data architecture.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of professional coding experience with languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Swift preferred.
- 8+ years of full-lifecycle system development experience from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support preferred.
- 8+ years of experience with public or private cloud technologies preferred.
- 8+ years of networking experience, including BGP, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and data center networking preferred.
