Responsibilities
- Shape the technical direction of HubSpot’s build, test, and deployment systems.
- Drive architectural decisions across pipeline design, test infrastructure, deployment orchestration, and developer ergonomics.
- Design and implement AI-powered QA agents that run on every deploy.
- Lead complex infrastructure initiatives from conception through rollout.
- Rethink build systems, testing infrastructure, and deployment pipelines for large-scale software delivery.
- Drive the roadmap toward 500+ deploys per minute by identifying and eliminating delivery-pipeline bottlenecks.
- Influence cross-team technical tradeoffs, configuration and change management, and platform architecture.
- Provide technical mentorship and raise the architectural bar through design reviews and principled decision-making.
Requirements
- Deep experience building and evolving large-scale distributed systems, particularly in CI/CD, build infrastructure, release engineering, or foundational backend platforms.
- Strong architectural judgment focused on simplicity, clarity, and long-term platform leverage.
- Experience operating at hyperscaler or platform-provider scale.
- A track record of owning and delivering complex, cross-team technical initiatives with organization-wide or company-level impact.
- A hands-on engineering approach involving building, debugging, reviewing, and shipping production systems.
- Ability to quickly enter unfamiliar technical areas, reason from first principles, and guide long-term technical decisions.
