Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and build Kong’s API Operations toolset, starting with decK.
- Extend the toolset to support Kong’s HTTP, AI, and Event gateways and other API runtimes.
- Shape the technical direction and evolution of the API Operations platform.
- Build CLI tools that support both human users and automation through GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
- Coordinate API changes across multiple tools while reducing manual operational work.
- Raise the quality and consistency of Kong’s APIs.
- Collaborate with product leadership on strategy, roadmap, and objectives.
- Assist with hiring and mentor team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience building high-performance software with Golang.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Prior operations experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Experience building APIs, standardizing APIs in large organizations, and creating API workflows.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with high velocity in a fast-paced pre-IPO startup.
