Responsibilities
- Define and own automation testing strategy, architecture, standards, governance, and quality engineering guidelines across microservices-based platforms.
- Design and evolve reusable automation frameworks, shared libraries, utilities, and common testing services for component, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Establish scalable, maintainable, reliable, debuggable, and traceable automation design principles and quality standards.
- Define automation approaches for distributed, containerized, and microservices-based applications deployed on Docker and Kubernetes.
- Partner with Development, QA, DevOps, and Platform Engineering teams to improve product testability, automation readiness, framework reuse, and quality consistency.
- Mentor Automation Engineers and Technical Leads, lead technical reviews, evaluate tools and technologies, and present strategy, quality status, and roadmap updates to engineering leadership.
- Guide teams on the use of generative AI and AI-assisted development tools to improve test design, coverage, maintenance, defect analysis, and productivity.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering and Test Automation.
- 3+ years of experience leading enterprise-scale automation initiatives.
- Proven experience defining automation architecture and enterprise automation frameworks used by multiple teams.
- Deep expertise in component, integration, API, and end-to-end testing, with strong knowledge of microservices architectures and distributed systems testing.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, continuous testing, DevOps, shift-left quality practices, and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, and/or TypeScript, plus experience with Playwright and modern automation technologies.
- Strong understanding of how AI can improve test design, test generation, maintenance, defect analysis, and productivity.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and drive adoption.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Knowledge of modern software delivery and release practices is advantageous; semiconductor domain experience is an added advantage.
