Responsibilities
- Benchmark system performance and conduct database performance analysis.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications, server errors, and logs.
- Recommend configuration tuning and optimizations for performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with core development, cloud, and security teams to enhance ClickHouse Cloud performance.
- Plan and drive Chaos initiatives across engineering teams.
- Develop and manage tools for chaos experiments and measure their impact.
- Gain a deep understanding of large-scale distributed systems.
- Study software resilience and operational challenges.
- Extend backend systems to enable Chaos Engineering techniques.
- Observe and prioritize innovative ways to disrupt running systems.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software development with scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Go, C/C++, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and distributed system architectures.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services, preferably Kubernetes.
- Experience leading large technical projects in collaboration with engineers.
- Expertise with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and production debugging capabilities.
- Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a sense of ownership.
