Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and continuously improve monitoring and observability platforms.
- Administer and optimize Checkmk, Grafana, and Kibana.
- Design monitoring concepts for VMware and Kubernetes-based cloud environments.
- Implement observability using metrics, logs, traces, alerts, OpenTelemetry collectors, and exporters.
- Build and maintain dashboards, alerting rules, and operational KPIs.
- Automate monitoring tasks, configurations, and deployments using DevOps practices.
- Integrate monitoring and observability components into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, development, operations, and internal customer teams.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, preferably in English.
- Manage rollouts throughout the application lifecycle using corporate incident, problem, and change processes.
Requirements
- Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools, especially Checkmk, Grafana, and Kibana.
- Good understanding of OpenTelemetry and modern observability concepts.
- Solid Linux administration skills.
- Experience with VMware and Kubernetes-based cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Docker or similar container runtimes.
- Familiarity with GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, Artifactory, and Git.
- Scripting or programming skills, preferably Python and Bash.
- Experience with APIs, YAML, JSON, and operational task automation.
- Understanding of networking basics including DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and structured, solution-oriented working style.
- Experience with classic and agile forms of cooperation is desirable.
