Responsibilities
- Reproduce and investigate customer-reported issues using reproduction steps, logs, and data, requesting additional information when needed.
- Investigate customer data anomalies and determine whether remediation requires code, data scripts, or both.
- Create safe, rerunnable T-SQL correction scripts with transactions, row counts, and rollback plans.
- Investigate defects across WinForms, core services, and stored procedures to isolate faulty components.
- Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, debug, and support PDI software products.
- Oversee and contribute to application design decisions and recommend data-model, framework, process, and technology improvements.
- Lead small and medium-sized projects and provide project status and risk assessments.
- Guide and train less experienced engineers.
- Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps, Product Management, Product Owners, QA Engineers, SREs, and IT Operations on feasibility, estimation, testing, and issue resolution.
- Perform engineering-level testing, compile test results, document solutions, and help develop product test plans.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining software applications in a software product development environment.
- Proficiency in most of VB, .NET, C#, SQL, JavaScript web frameworks such as Angular, and ASP.NET MVC.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio and Azure DevOps or Jira.
- At least 2 years of practical experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, analytical, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences, influence decisions without direct authority, and operate under pressure.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience supporting legacy production codebases and exposure to ERP, field-service, fuel, propane, HVAC, or distribution-industry software.
