Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, IMS DB/DC, DB2, MQ, VSAM, JCL, and Netron Frame Technology.
- Support enterprise applications by handling incidents, service requests, and change requests through ticketing-system workflows.
- Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues and provide technical resolutions.
- Perform performance tuning and optimize mainframe applications and database queries.
- Create technical documentation, knowledge-base articles, and standard operating procedures for business and support teams.
- Assess functional and technical requirements and recommend implementation or change options aligned with business needs.
- Act as a technical lead and guide junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10–12+ years of specialized experience in mainframe application development, support, and maintenance.
- Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS DC/DB, MQ, VSAM, and Netron Frame Technology.
- Experience with enterprise ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Service Manager and their operational workflows.
- Experience with waterfall and agile methodology projects, software development life cycle practices, version control systems, and software development tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
