Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, code, debug, maintain, and enhance complex security software.
- Prototype, develop, test, and performance-profile software for the Qualys Scanner Platform.
- Support highly scalable service-oriented software deployed in public or private clouds.
- Work with engineers and architects to improve technology, apply best practices, and resolve issues.
- Own successful delivery of assigned product components, modules, and dependencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
- At least five years of experience as a hands-on engineer developing software products and solutions for service-oriented deployment in public or private clouds.
- At least five years of C/C++ programming experience in a Linux environment.
- Working knowledge of the Linux Kernel.
- Experience with software design, prototyping, development, unit testing, and performance profiling.
- Hands-on experience with Vim, Jira, Git, Nexus, and Maven.
- Desired qualifications include ownership of complex software projects, quality focus, Test-Driven Development exposure, strong communication skills, self-direction, consensus building, and effective cross-team collaboration.
