Senior Software Engineer, Application and OS Enablement

- Build and maintain OTT testing, demo, and reference applications across consumer device platforms.
- Identify missing APIs, platform limitations, and functionality gaps affecting Dolby ecosystem enablement.
- Troubleshoot issues across applications, operating systems, media frameworks, software versions, and device configurations.
- Analyze gaps in audio and video capabilities, media playback, platform APIs, and integration layers.
- Prototype solutions inside applications and operating systems and define OS-specific architectures and workarounds.
- Collaborate with OS platform owners, Dolby engineering teams, product stakeholders, and external technical partners.
- Provide OS-specific guidance and technical documentation for app developers, including developer portal content.
- Build demo, reference, and testing applications and resolve issues for other Dolby application teams.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience in C++, Kotlin, Java, or similar application and platform-development languages.
- Experience building, debugging, or integrating applications on Android, Linux-based, embedded, TV, set-top box, or consumer-device platforms.
- Understanding of operating system concepts, application/runtime integration, media playback pipelines, APIs, and system configuration.
- Strong debugging skills across application and platform boundaries using logs, traces, device configuration, software versions, and integration layers.
- Ability to analyze technical gaps, propose practical solutions, and validate them through prototypes.
- Experience with test applications, reference implementations, automated test environments, or ecosystem validation tools.
- Ability to work independently, make technical trade-offs, communicate clearly with engineering and product stakeholders, and write technical documentation.
- Preferred experience with OTT services, streaming media, media players, Chromium, Web APIs, platform browser stacks, Android TV, TV/set-top box platforms, media frameworks, audio/video pipelines, middleware, OS integration, certification tools, or ecosystem validation.
- Preferred familiarity with consumer audio/video technologies, Dolby technologies, platform vendors, OS owners, standards groups, or external technical partners.
