Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across Eats Engineering and guide development of scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
- Develop and execute technical strategy, architecture plans, design patterns, and roadmaps with senior leadership and product owners.
- Drive mission-critical cross-team projects and solve complex business and system problems.
- Design, build, and deliver scalable and highly available products and services while addressing critical system issues.
- Define, measure, and report system and operational metrics.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop senior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience building B2C-scale products, preferably using the Java stack and AWS.
- 7+ years of technical leadership experience driving technical vision and execution at an organization or business-unit level.
- Hands-on expertise in Java development, system and data architecture, distributed computing and storage, messaging services, caches, and performance tuning.
- Experience collaborating across globally distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- E-commerce or food-delivery product development experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, ownership, urgency, business orientation, and bias for action are required.
