Responsibilities

  • Design and develop distributed Block, File, and Object Storage systems.
  • Architect highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance storage platforms.
  • Write and review production-quality code using C/C++ and/or Go.
  • Build Kubernetes-native storage solutions, including CSI, controllers, operators, and APIs.
  • Develop and optimize storage data-plane and control-plane components.
  • Lead architecture development, complex technical initiatives, architecture reviews, and technical roadmaps across multiple teams.
  • Define reusable technology solutions, modernize the technology stack, and influence adoption of new architectures.
  • Identify and address performance, security, reliability, availability, failover, recovery, maintainability, and scalability gaps.
  • Debug issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, and storage layers.
  • Mentor engineers, document technical decisions, and raise engineering standards.
  • Use AI coding agents by providing appropriate context and detailed requirements.
  • Drive architecture, development, testing, and production delivery while balancing incremental and transformational changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • 12–15 years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong software engineering experience in storage and/or distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Go, or Rust.
  • Strong understanding of Linux, concurrency, networking, and storage I/O.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
  • Knowledge of NVMe, iSCSI, NFS, S3, SPDK, CSI, and UBD.
  • Proven ability to architect and lead complex technical projects across teams.
  • Strong communication, technical leadership, mentoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
