Responsibilities
- Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms on public cloud platforms.
- Design, develop, debug, optimize, and operate resilient distributed backend systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers.
- Build production-grade software, microservices, Infrastructure-as-Code, and containerized systems using modern engineering practices.
- Use AI development tools and advanced prompt engineering to produce secure, optimized, and reliable code and system context.
- Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Own live-site management, feature delivery, technical-debt reduction, service availability, resilience, and performance improvements.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to resolve complex production issues and keep services highly available.
- Use and contribute to open-source technologies including Spinnaker and Zookeeper.
Requirements
- A related technical degree is required.
- At least 5 years of backend software development experience is required.
- Deep programming experience in Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby.
- Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
- Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development.
- Experience with critical infrastructure services including monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications.
- Experience with distributed database systems and relational databases such as PostgreSQL is preferred.
- A genuine AI-first engineering approach and experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills, including writing precise structured prompts and cultivating reliable system context.
- Experience balancing live-site management, feature delivery, and technical-debt retirement.
