Base Salary

$200k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

Own meaningful projects that improve the reliability and performance of the data platform.
Build and maintain systems that ingest, process, and enrich large volumes of customer data at high scale and low latency.
Work across datastores, orchestrated data pipelines, authorization, connection, and notification layers.
Extend existing architectural patterns and propose new ones when needed.
Contribute to datastore storage-format rewrites, framework upgrades, database connection-pooling improvements, authorization systems, data-processing latency reductions, and search infrastructure scaling.
Take projects from design through production rollout and ship robust, well-tested software.
Participate in incident response and help root-cause production issues and recurring failure patterns.
Collaborate through pairing, code review, and direct engagement with deployment teams and users.

Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience with distributed systems or data-intensive services such as data pipelines, relational and search datastores, or message queues.
Experience taking projects from design through production rollout.
Experience shipping and iterating on production-grade software professionally and/or in the open-source community.
Ability to write robust, well-tested, and well-designed code that is frequently deployed to users.
Comfort navigating and contributing to large, established codebases.
Comfort participating in incident response and resolving recurring failure patterns.
Located in the San Francisco or New York area and open to working in the office.
Ability and willingness to own problems from design to production and work collaboratively through ambiguity.
