QA Software (Load & Performance) Test Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design and execute load, stress, scalability, spike, and failover performance tests for HES/MDM products.
- Create realistic test scenarios for APIs, VEE processing, data ingestion, device events, Kafka pipelines, database operations, and user workflows.
- Define and measure performance KPIs including response time, throughput, transactions per second, ingestion rate, latency, resource usage, Kafka lag, error rate, and queue depth.
- Maintain load-test scripts using JMeter, k6, Simulator, and Mock serve.
- Monitor systems with Prometheus, Grafana, JVM metrics, and container metrics.
- Analyze bottlenecks across APIs, database queries, Kafka topics and partitions, backend services, VEE jobs, process engines, networks, and infrastructure.
- Prepare performance reports containing findings, risks, recommendations, version comparisons, and release-readiness conclusions.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, backend developers, product owners, and customer delivery teams on acceptance criteria and performance baselines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in performance testing, load testing, or performance engineering.
- Experience in the energy-management utility domain, including meter data management or HES.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication flows, asynchronous processing, queues, event streaming, distributed systems, and microservices performance behavior.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, JVM or container metrics, databases, and query performance.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle.
- Experience with high-volume data ingestion, messaging, or IoT/AMI/utility platforms is highly preferred.
- Ability to analyze logs, metrics, traces, and system behavior under load.
- Strong scripting skills in at least one of Python, JavaScript, Groovy, Bash, or Java.
- Preferred experience with Kafka performance testing, AMI or smart-metering systems, MDMS/MDM platforms, VEE workloads, DLMS/COSEM, large-scale device simulation, API Director, ReadyAPI, Kubernetes, containerized environments, and CI/CD integration for performance tests.
