Responsibilities
- Lead security initiatives and improve the security posture of services, platforms, critical assets, and data.
- Develop and maintain security-focused libraries, tools, and automation scripts.
- Implement secure-by-design principles, security controls, policies, standards, and procedures across software development.
- Conduct security threat modeling, code reviews, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
- Evaluate and implement security and governance tools and integrate security guardrails into engineering workflows.
- Respond to security incidents through detailed analysis and forensic investigations.
- Mentor engineering teams and communicate security risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong software engineering experience building secure applications and services.
- Knowledge of secure coding, input validation, encryption, cryptography, PKI, authentication protocols, and authorization in microservices environments.
- Expertise in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, WAFs, and micro-segmentation.
- Experience securing services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language, Python or Bash, and one general-purpose language, Go or Java.
- Ability to lead projects, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate complex security risks effectively.
- Preferred qualifications include contributions to open-source security tools or frameworks, professional English fluency, and AWS Certified Security – Specialty or an equivalent Azure/GCP certification.
