Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical escalation point for customer-reported SSD Security Firmware issues and drive them to closure.
- Guide customers through configuration, integration, and validation of SSD security features and commands.
- Reproduce failures, analyze firmware logs, traces, and bus captures, debug source code, and document root causes and corrective actions.
- Develop, unit test, and functionally validate targeted Security Firmware changes and customer-specific builds.
- Assess vulnerabilities and security findings, support mitigation and remediation delivery, and assist with customer disclosures.
- Support customer audits, questionnaires, certification activities, and technical documentation such as application notes and integration guides.
- Represent the company in technical customer engagements and communicate issue status and firmware-fix progress to stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate issue records, root-cause reports, and knowledge-base content while supporting cross-functional team development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer or electrical engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Customer-facing engineering experience in customer support, field applications, sustaining engineering, or escalation management is strongly preferred.
- Embedded security experience covering cryptography fundamentals, key management, secure boot, and secure firmware updates.
- Expertise with programming languages such as C, C++, or Rust and associated programming tools and environments.
- Python experience for test automation, log parsing, and debugging tools is advantageous.
- Understanding of storage interfaces such as PCIe/NVMe, SATA, or SAS, plus NAND flash or other non-volatile storage, is preferred or advantageous.
- Experience debugging firmware applications using debuggers, firmware traces, log analysis, and protocol analyzers.
- Experience with defect tracking, change control, and firmware release processes in production or sustaining environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage concurrent customer escalations under time pressure.
- Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, and operational tasks.
