Responsibilities
- Develop embedded software with R&D teams while ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Design, implement, and support C++ features on embedded platforms for high-performance optical products.
- Work independently or in small teams to deliver technically challenging products.
- Apply software lifecycle best practices and solve complex problems in multidisciplinary teams.
- Analyze and characterize software failures and contribute to troubleshooting and debugging.
- Share knowledge in object-oriented analysis and design, embedded software, code reuse, testability, supportability, distributed systems, multithreaded systems, and unit testing.
Requirements
- Be a third- or fourth-year student in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another software-oriented Engineering or Science discipline.
- Be currently enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Have strong C/C++ programming experience and strong experience developing and working with embedded systems.
- Have a strong understanding of RTOS.
- Have strong teamwork, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with optical systems, TI DSP, and BIOS is an asset.

- Pay range is $24–35 per hour.
- The co-op/internship lasts 8–12 months.
- The position is onsite in Ottawa, Ontario.
