Responsibilities

Own and lead complex, cross-cutting full-stack initiatives from problem definition through release, measurement, and iteration.
Build client-facing product capabilities for Rocket Mortgage client sites.
Design and implement scalable frontend and backend solutions using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, AWS, and Kubernetes.
Design and evolve GraphQL schemas and APIs for reliable client-facing applications.
Build accessible, responsive, and secure user experiences.
Use AI tools and agentic development workflows across design, coding, testing, debugging, reviewing, and delivery.
Translate ambiguous business needs into reliable technical solutions with product, design, data, and business stakeholders.
Lead architecture and technical strategy decisions across teams.
Mentor and coach engineers and guide less-experienced engineers through design reviews and complex delivery.
Participate in an on-call rotation when applicable, potentially including nights and weekends.

At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
Strong experience building production web applications with React and TypeScript.
Hands-on experience designing, building, and consuming GraphQL APIs.
Experience building full-stack applications across frontend, backend, APIs, and data integrations.
Experience designing, deploying, or operating applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Deep understanding of software design, system architecture, testing, observability, and maintainability.
A record of leading technical designs for large or multi-team initiatives.
Ability to solve ambiguous problems, influence without direct authority, and collaborate across teams.
Preferred experience using AI coding agents, AI-assisted reviews, prompt-driven development, or multi-agent workflows.
Preferred experience with AWS, Kubernetes, automated testing, and production operations.
Preferred experience building Node.js-based GraphQL services, including federation, schema versioning, and performance optimization.
Preferred experience with frontend performance, WCAG accessibility, and security best practices.
Preferred experience delivering features in greenfield, early-stage, or rapidly evolving product environments.
Preferred fintech, financial services, or consumer-facing digital product experience.
Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, lead through influence, and shape practices across multiple teams.
