Responsibilities
- Orchestrate and influence multiple technical tracks on the team.
- Champion the evolution of Viaduct’s global GraphQL schema.
- Mentor teammates and cultivate technical leadership across sub-teams.
- Serve as a key technical voice partnering with product and infrastructure stakeholders.
- Shape how engineers build and operate GraphQL services.
- Dive deep into Viaduct’s engine and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate the Viaduct Schema Steering Committee.
- Embrace an AI-first engineering approach.
- Partner with teams to troubleshoot production issues and design APIs.
- Contribute to the open-source Viaduct project.
Requirements
- 12+ years of backend and platform engineering experience.
- Proven experience guiding multi-year technical roadmaps.
- Deep expertise in GraphQL, API gateways, and schema design.
- Experience in building developer experience and tooling.
- Hands-on with modern programming languages like Kotlin/Java.
- Exceptional communication and influence skills.
