Responsibilities
- Develop and extend Linux Kernel features for internal use and the Arista EOS platform.
- Evaluate new CPUs and work with CPU and BIOS vendors to integrate their stacks into EOS.
- Bring up and qualify CPU and BIOS components on Arista hardware products.
- Add features, debug problems, and tune software for scalability and performance.
- Own projects from definition through deployment and participate in customer interactions.
- Maintain responsibility for the quality of delivered software and contribute changes to the kernel community upstream.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience with C or C++ and Python.
- Hands-on Linux Kernel software experience is preferred.
- Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems is preferred.
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles.
- Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to design and successfully implement solutions.
