Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize real-time firmware on an RTOS.
- Develop task scheduling, IPC, synchronization, and deterministic real-time behavior.
- Implement device drivers and middleware within the RTOS environment.
- Tune firmware for latency, jitter, and CPU and memory footprint.
- Port and configure the RTOS for new SoCs and boards.
- Debug real-time and concurrency issues including race conditions and priority inversion.
- Collaborate with platform, DSP, and application teams.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of embedded firmware development in C on RTOS-based systems.
- Deep understanding of real-time scheduling, concurrency, and synchronization.
- Experience with at least one RTOS: FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, or QNX.
- Linux kernel driver development experience.
- Strong debugging skills using JTAG/SWD, trace, and lab instruments.
- Understanding of microcontroller and SoC architecture, including memory, interrupts, and DMA.
- Preferred: ARM Cortex-M/R experience.
- Preferred: low-latency, high-rate sensor data pipeline experience.
- Preferred: safety-critical or functional-safety firmware experience, including ISO 26262.
- Preferred: multi-core AMP/SMP RTOS configuration experience.
- Preferred: robotics or autonomous systems background.
