Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize real-time firmware on an RTOS.
  • Develop task scheduling, IPC, synchronization, and deterministic real-time behavior.
  • Implement device drivers and middleware within the RTOS environment.
  • Tune firmware for latency, jitter, and CPU and memory footprint.
  • Port and configure the RTOS for new SoCs and boards.
  • Debug real-time and concurrency issues including race conditions and priority inversion.
  • Collaborate with platform, DSP, and application teams.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of embedded firmware development in C on RTOS-based systems.
  • Deep understanding of real-time scheduling, concurrency, and synchronization.
  • Experience with at least one RTOS: FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, or QNX.
  • Linux kernel driver development experience.
  • Strong debugging skills using JTAG/SWD, trace, and lab instruments.
  • Understanding of microcontroller and SoC architecture, including memory, interrupts, and DMA.
  • Preferred: ARM Cortex-M/R experience.
  • Preferred: low-latency, high-rate sensor data pipeline experience.
  • Preferred: safety-critical or functional-safety firmware experience, including ISO 26262.
  • Preferred: multi-core AMP/SMP RTOS configuration experience.
  • Preferred: robotics or autonomous systems background.
