Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Data Studio capabilities for data exploration, analytics, and development.
  • Build interactive tools including Jupyter Notebook, SQL editors, query consoles, and data exploration experiences.
  • Integrate Data Studio with Spark, Hadoop, Flink, and cloud-native compute platforms.
  • Develop backend services and APIs for workspace, session, compute, and resource lifecycle management.
  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, security, and developer experience.
  • Partner with data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to deliver self-service data workflows.
  • Use AI coding agents by providing context, specifications, constraints, and validation criteria for complex production tasks.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience with Java, Python, or similar languages.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Jupyter, SQL development environments, data exploration tools, or similar developer platforms.
  • Experience with distributed data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Flink, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and production platform engineering.
  • Experience building production-quality software with AI coding agents and tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
  • Ability to document business, architecture, codebase, and operational knowledge so AI coding agents can execute tasks accurately and autonomously.
  • Experience building internal developer or data platforms is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of distributed scheduling systems such as Airflow is a plus.
