Base Salary
$209k - $429k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical strategy and long-term vision for configuration and coordination infrastructure.
- Create unified paved paths for feature flags, ML settings, and experiments using standardized validation, staged rollouts, and governance frameworks.
- Migrate mission-critical use cases from legacy substrates to modern platforms and establish scalable onboarding patterns.
- Architect high-performance, read-optimized control-plane APIs and diagnostic surfaces for human operators and automated assistants.
- Integrate coordination stacks with deployment and multi-region architectures while improving service discovery and reducing bespoke operational toil.
- Use AI-assisted workflows to synthesize partner requirements into roadmaps while maintaining rigorous validation, peer verification, and metric-driven accountability.
- Partner with Traffic, Compute, Observability, and Cloud Architecture teams to deliver resilient, high-performance systems at scale.
Requirements
- Decade-plus experience with high-scale infrastructure and distributed environments, including architecting or managing business-critical backend substrates in production.
- Proven expertise developing cross-functional technical strategies for control-plane systems such as experiments, feature flags, or ML configuration.
- Advanced proficiency in distributed coordination, substrate design, consistency models, failure domains, and resilient abstractions.
- Experience aligning configuration surfaces with deployment pipelines and orchestration frameworks such as infrastructure-as-code or CI/CD.
- History of elevating senior engineering talent and steering parallel workstreams toward a unified technical vision and roadmap.
- Ability to use AI-enabled workflows for design synthesis, analysis, or documentation while applying data validation, peer review, and metric-driven verification.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ownership, professional integrity, data safeguarding, and human-in-the-loop oversight of automated outputs.
