Base Salary
$192k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve frontend platform architecture, including module boundaries, micro-frontend patterns, shared component and design-system infrastructure, and state management strategy.
- Diagnose and resolve systemic frontend performance issues involving bundle size, load time, runtime performance, and rendering bottlenecks.
- Establish performance budgets and guardrails that scale across engineering teams.
- Build and maintain build systems, local development environments, CI/CD pipelines, linting and code-generation systems, and internal developer tooling.
- Develop AI-agent-driven automation and software-factory workflows to eliminate engineering workflow bottlenecks.
- Set technical direction and standards for the frontend organization, mentor senior and staff-track engineers, and review architecture proposals.
- Partner with product engineering, design systems, and platform/infrastructure teams to address product-team needs.
Requirements
- Staff-level software engineering experience or equivalent scope and impact.
- Deep expertise in modern frontend architecture using React or an equivalent component framework, combined with infrastructure and systems engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience improving frontend performance at scale, including bundle optimization, rendering performance, and load-time metrics.
- Experience designing and shipping internal developer tooling or platform infrastructure that improved developer velocity.
- Hands-on experience with AI-agent-driven or LLM-powered engineering workflows, or a clear perspective on how to build them.
- Strong technical judgment and ability to drive consensus on ambiguous, cross-cutting architectural decisions.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Preferred experience with monorepo tooling, micro-frontend architectures, large-scale frontend platform migrations, design systems, component libraries, agent harness infrastructure, evaluation frameworks, agent orchestration, or LLM tool-use frameworks.
