Base Salary
$165k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop backend systems using languages and frameworks including Python/Django and Kotlin/JVM.
- Work with SQL, GraphQL, Redis, Postgres, Kafka, and AWS as part of the backend technology stack.
- Collaborate with product management, data science, and design to build high-impact features.
- Work with engineering teams in Toronto, San Francisco, and other locations.
- Contribute to feature definition, roadmap planning, customer understanding, and data analysis.
- Participate in company trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, team-building activities, and culture-building efforts.
Requirements
- At least five years of software engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong coding abilities in at least one language; Python or Kotlin experience is preferred.
- Experience building and deploying flexible backend systems at scale.
- Ability to work independently and deliver impact in an ambiguous environment.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Desire to learn new technologies and systems and explore AI and emerging technologies.
