Base Salary

$115k - $235k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead and architect components of scalable, elastic distributed systems for hyper-scale workloads.
  • Optimize code and systems for high-throughput processing, retrieval, storage, and distributed state management.
  • Design fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting.
  • Define KPIs and telemetry and build dashboards and alerting to monitor system health and reliability.
  • Design performance, load, fault-injection, brownout, correctness, replication, and synchronization testing.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues, participate in incident response and operational support rotations, and mentor others.
  • Implement security controls, execute remediation plans, maintain compliance documentation, and protect multi-tenant infrastructure.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code automation and change-management processes for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
  • Coordinate moderately complex projects, provide technical oversight, improve processes, and participate in candidate interviews.

Requirements

  • Experience leading development and beginning architecture of scalable distributed systems and high-throughput workloads.
  • Ability to design fault-tolerant, durable, elastic systems that meet service-level objectives.
  • Experience with telemetry, dashboards, alerting, operational troubleshooting, incident response, and root-cause investigation.
  • Knowledge of data replication, synchronization, consistency, availability, partition tolerance, and distributed systems reliability patterns.
  • Experience implementing security controls, remediation, cloud compliance, and infrastructure automation.
  • Ability to coordinate moderately complex initiatives, provide technical oversight, mentor junior team members, and collaborate across teams.
