Responsibilities
- Plan and execute software engineering tasks to meet technical, quality, schedule, and customer requirements.
- Implement features, identify subtasks, coordinate development activities, and develop software and system requirements.
- Design, develop, integrate, test, debug, verify, maintain, build, and release embedded avionics display software, algorithms, and frameworks.
- Support certification, customer acceptance, compliance reviews, quality audits, and requirements-based verification.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, quality, certification, program management, customers, and other engineering teams.
- Communicate project status, technical progress, risks, audit findings, corrective actions, and process updates.
- Improve engineering processes, methods, guidelines, quality, and delivery efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance, direction, code review, onboarding, and mentorship to early-career engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- Eight years of software development experience, including product development and systems/software integration in embedded, real-time, or regulated environments.
- Eight years of hands-on C++ development experience in embedded or real-time systems, such as DEOS, RTOS, or equivalent environments.
- Experience with software architecture, object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and software lifecycle processes including design, development, verification, and release.
- Preferred experience in regulated or safety-critical industries such as aerospace, avionics, defense, industrial automation, or medical devices.
- Preferred experience with real-time, embedded, control, or mission-critical systems; certification and compliance activities; quality audits; requirements-based verification; and mentoring.
